1. Enterprise Ontology (T-Box Metamodel): The Rules & Schema
The Enterprise Ontology defines what can exist. It is the formal schema, concept taxonomy, and
grammar of SAFe 6.0 (e.g. PortfolioEpic, Capability, AgileReleaseTrain,
and the [:DECOMPOSES_INTO] edge). It is identical across all companies adopting SAFe.
2. Live Operational Graph (A-Box Assertions): The Ground Truth &
Execution
The Live Operational Graph contains what actually exists in a specific organization at runtime (e.g.
epic_001 Autonomous AGV Fleet Mesh, team_001 Navigation Pod, and ticket
NAV-401). It has real hours, dollars, WSJF scores, and sprint deadlines.

Pro-Tip for Instructors: In this console, you can explore the pure theoretical rules in the
Enterprise Ontology tab, and then click "Explore Live Instances" to show
students how that theory turns into executable enterprise software!
